Will you notice much difference between 30 mbps and 100 Also, you won't notice a difference between 30 or 100 except for when you're downloading large files. 30Mbps is almost 4MB/s, and 100Mbps is a bit over 12MB/s. The 30Mbps should be fine unless you have four or five people in the house all streaming and downloading large files all at the same time. Gigabit card only connecting at 100mbps? Here's the fix

This doubles any speed you get with 802.11 ac, but it drops quickly the further you go away from your router.
